friday afternoon my mom called to tell me neither of my sisters would be at her house this weekend, so hannah and i should go down after school.

we couldn't go after school because a. she's too old for me to pack for her anymore and b. it was kinda snowish/sleetish/icky out on friday. but we did get ourselves packed up friday night so we could wake up saturday morning and head out. we loaded the saturn, stopped in the juice stop for breakfast smoothies, gassed up at the QT and headed to grandma's house.

there's not much traffic saturday morning, but it's still a really long drive. the ground is brown and the trees are naked. i listened to npr. at first h found it boring and complained some, but she totally got into car talk and thinks those guys are hilarious.

we finally made it to my mom's new house. the last time we saw it was at thanksgiving, and although it was far far better than it was when she got it, it was still in the middle of being extensively remodeled. now it's almost all finished and it's so incredibly beautiful! it's awesome and i'm so impressed. making a great home is probably what my mom's best at, so i shouldn't be surprised but man. i guess i have no vision for that kind of thing. i had no idea it was going to turn out as big and elegant and beautiful as it did.

we hung out mostly, all day saturday. i cooked dinner and we half watched a stupid sci fi movie about volcanos. sunday we went out to breakfast, did more hanging while watching home and garden tv (my mom's favorite). while i was making our late lunch, my sister megan showed up with a giant bag of cheap stuff from old navy. and before we knew it it was dark and late and past the time h and i should have headed back home.

yesterday i had to get a lot of work done. all kinds of boring stuff i don't like, but that's what happens when you go away for a nice weekend i guess.

last night, after her shower (like right after she shut off the water and was stepping out of the shower) hannah had a seriously scary low. she fell and bruised herself all up, and then she was having the scariest jerkiest spasms i've seen in a long time. i think she was about an inch away from going into a full out seizure and i was terrified. i gave her 3 juice boxes straight in a row, and she still never got higher than in range. she's been low a lot lately. and she has those "jerks" a lot lately. i tried to get someone at the hospital to call me yesterday, but no such luck. i need to call and ask them to again. i'm a little worried about all that.

today my to do list takes up almost the whole planner page. that's never nice to see. i better go get on it.
